An orchid’s care needs often include giving the plant a lot of attention without being overwhelming. This can be compared to the importance of giving your attention to those you care for.
“Snake Plant”
The snake plant is adaptable and flexible in many different environments. From these behaviours we can learn to be more flexible and adaptable in self care and when caring for others.
“Pothos”
“Pothos” discusses the importance of listening and communication in self care and caring for others. The pathos plant begins to drop and change colour when needing water, this can be compared to actively listening and communicating when caring for yourself and others.
“Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree”
This plant requires delicate and consistent care, when dusting the leaves for example. Mirrored here as self-care and the importance of being consistent and delicate with how you take care of and speak to yourself.
“Sunflower”
The sunflower exhibits heliotropism while growing or until fully bloomed, meaning that the flower will twist or turn to face the sun. In this illustration the sunflower is in full bloom and is choosing to continue this behaviour, symbolizing the idea of seeking out light, or finding the positives as a form of self care.
“Magnolia Liliiflora”
The magnolia liliiflora or purple lily magnolia is a slow growing tree that takes around 10-20 years to fully grow. From this we can learn how important the role of patience is to interpersonal relationships, as well as with our own relationship with ourselves.
