“Poster Girl”, is a series of illustrations inspired by a selection of Dorothy Parker poems from her book, “Enough Rope”. The illustrations are in the form of fashion and beauty advertisements, and pay homage to the witty repertoire of Parker’s poems, and the overall theme of female independence and empowerment present in Parker’s work. Dorothy Parker was the “poster girl” for an innovative female assertiveness. These illustrations are intended to be used as advertisements in fashion and beauty commercial spaces, to expose her forward thinking views to a mass audience.
